Commitment
In a global context marked by climate crises, conflicts, and social unrest, it is crucial to reflect on how each industry can generate positive change. The MICE industry has always been synonymous with impact—both in its ability to connect brands with audiences and in its environmental and social footprint.
Traditionally, events have been fleeting experiences that prioritized grabbing attention at the expense of long working hours, high material consumption, and excessive waste generation. However, the sector is undergoing a transformation aimed at minimizing its environmental impact and leaving a positive footprint on the community: its legacy.
Within this framework, the Ibiza Convention Bureau has developed a strategic roadmap that sets out specific, measurable objectives backed by concrete and achievable actions. At ICB, we are ambitiously committed to comprehensive sustainability, implementing it across all our areas (environmental, social, and governance).
This vision effectively transforms our brand and our impact, allowing us to reduce the negative elements of our activity while working proactively.
The sustainability strategy of the Ibiza Convention Bureau was developed through a consultancy specialized in sustainability for the tourism industry, particularly for the MICE sector.
This strategy was developed based on both internal and external analysis, and around the following three objectives:
Transform the destination/MICE companies into sustainable and responsible actors
Communicate the actions being taken
Engage and involve partners
The path to sustainability is a continuous process, but we are committed to following it with conviction, transparency, and collaboration.
