Palladium Cares – Caring by Doing: a genuine commitment to people, communities, and the planet.
Palladium Hotel Group was founded more than 50 years ago with the aim of bringing paradise closer to travelers. With a presence in some of the world’s most inspiring destinations and a team of nearly 14,000 professionals, the company is fully aware of the responsibility its activity entails and the impact it generates in the territories where it operates.
From this conviction comes Palladium Cares, the identity under which all the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are brought together under the motto Caring by Doing. This program focuses not only on the responsible use of resources and environmental protection, but especially on the social dimension of tourism: people.
The program is structured around four main pillars:
Under this pillar, Palladium Cares integrates all initiatives aimed at improving employees’ quality of life.
Among the most notable projects are:
-
Scholarship program for employees’ children, covering 100% of tuition fees for a university degree at a private institution, as well as living expenses during the first three years of study.
-
Solidarity Fund, driven by the teams themselves to support colleagues facing extraordinary situations, with financial contributions matched by the company.
In addition, the Group continuously works in areas such as training, safety, workplace well-being, and professional development.
The second pillar of Palladium Cares focuses on creating opportunities and strengthening the social fabric in the destinations where the Group operates.
Key initiatives include:
-
“4 Causes 4 Quarters”: A social impact project involving hotel teams in supporting four different social causes: children, inequality, care for the planet, and the well-being of the elderly. Each quarter, hotels collaborate with NGOs linked to one of these causes and actively engage their employees.
-
Vocational training centers in Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, and Ibiza — with an upcoming opening in the Dominican Republic — aimed at providing training and facilitating access to the job market for the entire community, based on the premise that the best form of social support is employment.
-
Emergency and extraordinary relief funds activated in response to natural disasters such as Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica or the DANA storm in Valencia. In addition to financial donations to support recovery efforts, Group teams volunteer to provide direct on-the-ground assistance.
Environmental protection is a cross-cutting pillar of the Group’s strategy, with projects promoting a more sustainable model:
-
Agricultural production centers in Brazil, and soon in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, combining community training, local production, and direct supply to hotels, thereby strengthening the local economy and reducing carbon footprint.
-
Food waste reduction programs: donation of surplus food to social organizations, collaboration with platforms such as Too Good To Go, zero-waste initiatives in certain destinations, and the use of artificial intelligence tools to monitor and optimize surplus management.
-
Circular economy initiatives: projects for reusing materials such as soaps and textiles, recycling coffee capsules, and promoting shared transportation among employees, contributing to the reduction of waste and emissions.
-
Biodiversity protection projects: initiatives focused on conserving native species, coral reefs, sea turtles, Ibiza wall lizards, and protecting and regenerating ecosystems in the destinations where the Group operates, such as posidonia seagrass.
This pillar reinforces the company’s commitment to business ethics, transparency, and good governance, ensuring that all actions are carried out responsibly and in alignment with its values.
Within the MICE segment, Palladium Hotel Group offers companies and event organizers the opportunity to turn each event into an initiative with a positive impact by integrating sustainable and social measures such as:
-
Measuring and offsetting the event’s carbon footprint.
-
Collaborating with NGOs through donations or specific projects.
-
Sourcing services and materials (such as merchandising) from special employment centers.
-
Providing reusable containers for leftover food to encourage waste reduction.
In this way, events not only achieve corporate objectives but also become a tool to actively contribute to the sustainable development of destinations and their communities.
